NE records all-time high June temperatures: June 26

These were the highest daytime June temperatures of these NE towns till date. Other places in NE recorded maximum temperatures upto 37 degrees C. RMC, Itanagar attributed this situation to the presence of a low pressure system over south-east Bangladesh, which is associated with an upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 4.5 km above the mean sea level. Due to this system, wind pattern over NE is mainly northeasterly and easterly and this is causing a rise in the day temperature. However, rainfall is observed in rest of NE, barring its northeastern part, due to this low pressure system and locally developed thunderstorm activities.
